IPTV+18 plans: three packages, one simple choice

Three questions settle it for almost everyone. How big does the adult lineup need to be? Do you want 4K? How many screens will watch at the same time? Answer those and the right one of the IPTV+18 plans is usually obvious.

For a single television, the €69 tier gives the most for the money, and it is our usual recommendation. It carries around 6,000 adult channels, many in 4K, plus 60,000 live channels and 200,000 on-demand titles. Starter at €39 is the cheaper way in, with about 200 adult channels in Full HD. Ultimate Server at €299, paid once for life, is the top of the IPTV+18 plans: 8,000 VIP adult channels, a dedicated server and up to four screens.

Starter: €39 a year, one device

Starter is a complete TV package first: 40,000 live channels with a guide and 90,000 films and series on demand, all in Full HD. The adult section is small, about 200 channels, which is plenty if you watch now and then and do not need 4K. Of the IPTV+18 plans, it is the one for a second TV or for someone who wants the lowest price.

Plus 4K: €69 a year, one device

The mid tier turns a sampler into a library: roughly six thousand adult feeds, a good share in Ultra-HD, plus 60,000 live channels, 200,000 on-demand titles and 3-day replay. For one main TV it strikes the right balance of size, picture and price, which is why it carries the recommended tag.

Ultimate Server: €299 once, up to four screens

The top tier swaps shared capacity for a server of your own and opens everything: the VIP adult set, the widest live list and the largest library, with a week of replay. You pay once and never renew. Up to four screens can watch at the same time, so a household with several TVs pays less than it would for separate yearly plans. The adult channels lineup by tier shows what the 8,000 VIP set adds.

The three main IPTV+18 plans cover one device each, except Ultimate Server. If you want a second screen or would rather pay once, there are four extra options:

• Starter · 2 Screens: €59 per year. The Starter lineup in Full HD on two devices at the same time.
• Plus 4K · 2 Screens: €119 per year. The full Plus 4K package, 4K and around 6,000 adult channels, on two devices.
• Plus 4K · Lifetime: €129 one-time. Plus 4K on one device with no yearly renewal.
• Plus 4K · 3 Screens · Lifetime: €249 one-time. Plus 4K on three devices, paid once.

A quick rule of thumb: if you plan to keep the service more than two years on one TV, Plus 4K · Lifetime costs less than two yearly renewals. If you need four screens or want the VIP catalogue, Ultimate Server is the better buy.

No single plan suits everyone, but one usually fits you better than the others. For most people with one TV it is Plus 4K. For a household with three or four screens, or anyone who plans to stay several years, it is Ultimate Server. For a casual viewer on a budget, Starter.

Whatever you pick, check the basics on any provider before you pay: a separate locked 18+ group, a real person to talk to, clear prices and a neutral bank label.
